Lopez-Anido Claims Little Three Title

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Wesleyan's Becky Lopez-Anido claimed the Little Three title, covering the 4k course in 14:53.28 and recording a personal best time. The No. 21 Cardinals placed second overall with 48 points, while Williams claimed its 12th-straight crown with 24 points, placing five runners in the top-10. 

"I was very pleased with our effort today," expressed head coach John Crooke. "We still have a lot of work to do this season, but I think that our showing proved our ability to be competitive at both the conference and regional level this year."


  • Lopez-Anido's first-place finish was 15 seconds ahead of the runner-up, as she eclipsed her previous best time by 49 seconds.
  • Wesleyan had two other runners finish in the top-10. Emma Trapani finished seventh with a time of 15:20.12, while Sara Pinsonault claimed ninth place (15:29.53). Both times were personal records for the Cardinals.
  • Sara Greene (15:50.48), Rosie Skovron (15:52.48), Miranda Graves (15:53.05) and Jane Hollander (15:53.85) finished 17th, 19th, 20th and 21st, respectively to round out the top-seven for Wesleyan.


  • The Cardinals are idle until October 5th when they travel to Lehigh for the Paul Short Run.
