Bellizzi, a 2018 All-American, earns her first career weekly award from the NESCAC after an excellent weekend in which she helped guide the Cardinals (12-2, 4-1 NESCAC) to wins over Colby (3-0) and Bates (3-1). The junior totaled 17 digs in the win over the Mules and followed that up with a season-high 38 against the Bobcats the following day, averaging 9.50 per set for the match.
Bellizzi has 248 digs through 14 matches, which is an average of 5.77 per set to rank second-best in the NESCAC. Her excellent defensive play has been a major reason for the team's success thus far.
Wesleyan is back in action this Thursday, Oct. 10 and will play at Keene State. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
