PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Sean Choi and Aditi Prasad of Wesleyan squash competed in the College Squash Association (CSA) National Collegiate Individual Championships this weekend in Philadelphia, Pa. on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. Choi competed in the Molloy West division while Prasad earned a draw in the Holleran North bracket.
Choi drew Matthew Lucente of Drexel in the first round and lost 3-0 by scores of 11-3, 11-6, 11-1. In the consolation bracket, he faced Adam Lichtmacher of Little Three rival Amherst and was defeated 3-0 by marks of 11-4, 11-6, 11-3.
Prasad faced Navmi Sharma of Penn. in the Round of 16 and was defeated 11-4, 11-4, 11-7, dropping her into the consolation bracket. In the consolation quarterfinals, she responded nicely with a 3-0 sweep over Emily Knapp of Franklin & Marshall as she won by marks of 11-4, 11-4, 11-8. Advancing to the consolation semifinals, she was matched up with Isabel Young of Brown. After taking the first set (11-5), she dropped the next two (16-14, 11-2) to face a 2-1 deficit. However, she bounced back to complete a thrilling match as she won the next two sets by scores of 11-6, 21-19. In the consolation finals, she was defeated by Sarah Willwerth of Williams in three by scores of 11-9, 11-8, 11-5.
