Wesleyan Squash Competes at Pioneer Valley Invitational

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's and women's squash teams competed at the Pioneer Valley Invitational hosted by Amherst College and Mount Holyoke on Friday and Saturday.


  • The Cardinals went 2-1 at the tournament with wins over Connecticut College (5-4) and Denison (8-1), before losing to Hamilton (7-2).
  • At the top of the lineup, Sean Choi went 2-1 in the No. 1 position and John Sutherby was the lone Cardinal to go a perfect 3-0 as he played in the No. 2 spot.
  • Scott Ji was 2-1 at No. 7, Brinton Thomas was 2-1 at No. 8, and Robby Greenspan was 2-1 at No. 9.


  • The women cruised to a 3-0 weekend, outscoring their opponents 25-2 as they improved to 10-4 overall.
  • Wesleyan swept Connecticut College and defeated Mount Holyoke and Hamilton by scores of 8-1.
  • At the top of the lineup, Ananya Vir and Josie Russ went 3-0 from the No. 2 and No.3 spots, respectively.
  • Valeria Osorio was a perfect 3-0 at No. 4, Nina Premutico went 3-0 at No. 6, Sofia Melian-Morse was perfect at No. 7, Annie Roach was 3-0 at No. 8, and Emma Smith won all three matches at No. 9.


  • Wesleyan is back in action Sunday, February 2nd for the Little Three Championship at Amherst. The Cardinals will face Amherst at 10 a.m. followed by Williams at 1 p.m.
