NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Wesleyan University women's basketball team set a program record with 103 points--surpassing the old mark of 100 which occurred twice in 1988 and again in 2009--as the Cardinals cruised to a commanding 103-35 win over Goucher College at the Music City Classic on Saturday. Six players scored in double-figures for Wesleyan Saturday as it improved to 8-2 overall. Following the loss, the Gophers dropped to 0-11 on the season.

  • The second half was a similar story as the Cardinals held Goucher to just 16 points in the final 20 minutes of regulation, outscoring them 33-9 in the third quarter and 10-7 in the fourth en route to the decisive victory.

  • Wesleyan returns to the court Friday, Jan. 5 and will play at Little Three rival Williams in its NESCAC opener. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
