Denny & McCracken Lead Cardinals at Little Three Championship

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's indoor track and field team opened 2019 hosting the Little Three Championship meet on Saturday. The Cardinals came in third place overall with a score of 100, while Amherst was second with 124 and Williams won with 135. The win was the 31st-straight Little Three Championship win for the Ephs.


  • First-year Christian Denny excelled in the 60-meter dash, placing first with a time of 7.24.
  • Andrew McCracken soared to a first-place finish in the pole vault with a height of 4.42m.
  • Olaniyi Adebayo came in second in the shot put with a mark of 11.70m, and placed third in the weight throw with a mark of 12.73m.
  • In the 200-meter, Nick Carulli crossed the finish line in sixth place with a time of 24.62.
  • Kevin DeLoughry and Denny placed second and third, respectively, in the 400-meter with times of 51.02 and 52.48. DeLoughry's time qualified him for the Division III New England meet.
  • In the 600-meter, Kyron Roberts qualified for the Division III New England meet with a second-place finish (1:24.86).
  • Ethan Walker and Alexander Blaylock came in third and fifth, respectively, in the 800-meter with times of 2:07.87 and 2:08.58.
  • Wesleyan's Grant van Inwegen raced to a third-place finish in the 1,000-meter, clocking in at 2:31.53. His time qualified him for the Division III New England meet and NEICAAA.
  • Miles Aronow and Dale Ross pushed each other to sixth and seventh place finish in the mile with times of 4:32.43 and 4:41.98, respectively.
  • In the 3,000-meter, Adam Linsky finished fourth with a time of 9:07.08, while Benjamin Cahill clocked in at 9:11.41, which was good for sixth place.
  • Wesleyan's 4x400-meter relay, composed of DeLoughry, Denny, Griffin Maristany and Kyron Roberts, came in first with a time of 3:28.74.
  • The Cardinals 4x800-meter relay team (William Bajohr, Ethan Walker, Blaylock and van Inwegen) raced to a second place finish with a time of 8:17.92.
  • Noah Olsen and Andrew Dearborn earned third and fourth place finishes, respectively, in the high jump. Olsen recorded a mark of 1.88m, while Dearborn jumped to 1.83m.
  •  Carulli and Olson earned third and fourth in the long jump with marks of 6.28m and 6.23m, respectively.
  • Carulli also came in third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.66m.


  • Wesleyan will head to Smith College for the Smith Invite next weekend.
