The Wesleyan men’s track and field team was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) for its cumulative grade point average of 3.60, while three Cardinals earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. To qualify for the USTFCCA All-Academic Track & Field team as an individual, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have me either of the following athletic standards. He or she must have competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship, or finished the regular season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 35 in a relay event.
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Andrew McCracken of the Wesleyan men’s track and field team was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country First Team as announced by CoSIDA. The 2018-19 awards are selected by CoSIDA and recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Kevin DeLoughry, Andrew McCracken and Kevin McMorrow of the Wesleyan men’s track and field team were represented on the United Stats Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region squads, as announced by the committee following the conclusion of the regular season. The top-five individuals in every event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to all members of the region’s top-three relay teams.
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Wesleyan men’s track and field team competed at the New England Division III Track & Field Championship on Saturday. Andrew McCracken highlighted the meet for the Cardinals, winning the pole vault in a field of 21 with a height of 4.76m.
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Wesleyan men’s track and field team placed seventh out of 11 teams at the NESCAC Championship meet on Saturday. Middlebury defended its first-ever NESCAC title, scoring 201 points, while Tufts was second (143 points) and Amherst (130 points) rounded out the top-three.
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s track and field team will travel to Middlebury College for the 2019 NESCAC Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Championships on Saturday, April 28th. The Cardinals will look to move up in the rankings this year, as the Panthers look to defend their title from last year. Last season, Middlebury captured their first NESCAC title with 172 points, 32 points better than second-place Williams (140) and 35 points ahead of third-place Tufts (137).
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Junior Kevin McMorrow of the Wesleyan men’s track and field team was named the NESCAC Performer of the Week after finishing second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Silfen Invitational at Connecticut College on Saturday.
NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s track and field team competed at the Silfen Invitational this weekend. The meet was highlighted by the 4x400 relay team (Kevin DeLoughry, Christian Denny, Griffan Maristany and Kyron Roberts) which broke the school record with their first-place finish. Their time of 3:20.87 bested a mark of 3:21.81 that stood since 2001.
AMHERST, Mass. – The men’s track and field team came in fifth out of six teams at the Amherst Spring Fling on Saturday, and also had athletes compete at Princeton’s Sam Howell Invitational. The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday when they head to the Connecticut College Invite.
MEDFORD, Mass. - The Wesleyan men?s track and field team came in sixth place out of 19 teams at the Tufts Snowflake Classic on Saturday. The Cardinals were led by first-place finishes from Kevin DeLoughry and Kevin McMorrow, as five athletes recorded personal bests.
BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Ivie Uzamere was crowned the 2019 NCAA Division III Indoor Champion in the weight throw after placing first with a personal best mark of 19.36m. With the mark, Uzamere is just the fourth track & field athlete to win a National Championship and first ever in a field event. Her winning mark also shattered her own school record (17.45m) that she set back in 2018. The last National Champion was Ellen Davis ’07 who won the indoor 5k in 2007.
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Six members of the Wesleyan men’s and women’s track and field programs qualified for the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championship, as announced by the NCAA on Sunday evening. The top-20 times in each event were accepted for competition, as events get underway on Friday at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.

The Cardinals came in third place overall with a score of 100, while Amherst was second with 124 and Williams won with 135. The win was the 31st-straight Little Three Championship win for the Ephs.
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s indoor track and field team opened its 2018-19 season hosting Connecticut College and Trinity in a tri-meet on Friday evening. The squad was led by Andrew McCracken’s first-place finish, recording a height of 4.55m in the pole vault.
