Cardinals Finish in 11th Place at US Coast Guard Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Wesleyan University men's track and field team finished in 11th place at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Invitational on a rainy Saturday morning and afternoon.

2. WPI 109.5: points

  • Drew Trotman '18 and Wesley Laygu '17 notched 12th and 13th place finishes in the 400 meter race with times of 53.94 and 54.58 respectively.
  • In the 1500 meter event, Taylor Titcomb '16 crossed the line in sixth place with a time of 4:09.79.
  • Riley Hawkins-Hecock '19 finished in 8th place in the steeplechase event with a time of 10:38.00.


  • Freshman Andrew McCracken finished in fourth place in the pole vault event with a mark of 4.25m.
  • Laygu finished in 10th place in the log jump event with a jump of 5.58m.
  • Erik Hall finished in 8th place in the javelin event with a throw of 46.05m.


  • The Cardinals return to action Saturday, April 9 and will compete at the Amherst Spring Fling.
