NESCAC PREVIEW l CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The 19th-ranked Wesleyan University men's squash team earned the sixth-seed in the three-day 2016 NESCAC Men's Squash Championship this weekend, and will play No. 29 Connecticut College in first round action Friday, Feb. 5 at 4:30 p.m.
The Cardinals enter the tournament with a 7-4 dual-match record, and are 7-2 in their last nine contests. They are also 5-2 against NESCAC competition this season, and defeated the 2-11 Camels decisively on Dec. 11th, 8-1. Conn. College has lost six-straight matches and have been swept in all six.
Wesleyan has finished fifth in each of the last two championships, and is 14-17 overall in the nine-year history of the tournament. Trinity's George A. Kellner Squash Center will serve as the host for all of this year's championship bracket matches, while Wesleyan's Rosenbaum Squash Center will host select consolation matches on Saturday.
The Cardinals boast a talented lineup that features eight players with at least four wins. Playing from the No. 1 position, Guy Davidson '16 has accumulated a 4-2 overall record, while classmate Raheem Logan has earned the No. 72 ranking in the country with a 4-5 mark from the No. 2 spot.
Rounding out the top of the lineup are juniors Alex Kamisher and Chris Hart with records of 5-1 and 5-3, respectively. Grant Lounsbury '17, Jason Brandner '16 and Yahya Ladiwala '19 each have five wins as well, while Zach Roach '17 has four. In addition, David Sneed '17 is coming off an impressive performance with back-to-back wins against Amherst and Williams.
