  • Men’s Soccer Comes Up Short in NESCAC Quarterfinal at No. 1 Amherst

    AMHERST, Mass. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (6-7-3) saw its NESCAC title run come up short on Saturday at No. 1 Amherst (14-0-2). In the Cardinals' first appearance in the NESCAC Tournament since 2015, the eighth-seeded squad fell to the top-seeded Mammoths 2-0.

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team has qualified for the NESCAC Tournament as the eighth seed and will head to top-seeded Amherst on Saturday, November 2nd for a 12:30 p.m. quarterfinal contest. The Cardinals opened the season by recording six shutouts over seven games, while only allowing one goal and will look to win the program’s second NESCAC title. Wesleyan is returning to the postseason for the first time since 2015.  
  • Wesleyan Edged 1-0 by No. 14 Connecticut College

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (6-6-3, 2-5-3) fell to No. 14 Connecticut College 1-0 in its regular-season finale on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals and the Camels (10-3-2, 6-2-2) have squared off 46 times, with the last nine meetings being decided by one goal. With the loss, Wesleyan will wait to hear about its NESCAC tournament fate when games wrap up tomorrow, while Connecticut College has secured a spot in the tournament as they finish the regular season with an unblemished record at home (8-0).
  • Strong First Half Propels Wesleyan Past Trinity 3-0

    HARTFORD, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (6-5-3, 2-4-3) scored three unanswered goals in the first half to down Trinity (1-12-1, 0-9-0) on the road Saturday morning. The 3-0 victory was the Cardinals’ seventh shutout of the year, and most since 2015. Trevor Devanny led the way for Wesleyan, tallying a goal and an assist during the triumph.  
  • Wesleyan Suffers Overtime Loss at Hamilton

    CLINTON, N.Y. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (5-5-3, 1-4-3) fell 1-0 to Hamilton (6-5-2, 3-3-2) in overtime on Saturday afternoon. This was the fourth-straight meeting decided in extra sessions, as the Cardinals hold a 6-5 edge in the series.   
  • Wesleyan Eases Past Fitchburg State 5-1

    FITCHBURG, Mass. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (5-4-3) scored five goals in the second half en route to a 5-1 victory at Fitchburg State (5-6-2) on Wednesday evening. Senior Mike Gallo led the Cardinals with a pair of goals and an assist, as he now leads the team with seven points. 
  • Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision Against Bates

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (4-4-3, 1-3-3) was edged 1-0 by Bates (8-2-1, 4-2-1) on Saturday afternoon. Before the game, the Cardinals honored their six seniors – Joe Clayton, Trevor Devanny, Mike Gallo, Alec Haas, Cameron Park and Jack Wolf.
  • Cardinals Edged 1-0 by Coast Guard

    NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team was edged by Coast Guard 1-0 on the road on Tuesday. This was the 64th meeting between the two teams and first since 2011, as the Cardinals hold a decisive 40-18-5 advantage in the series. With the loss, the Cardinals fall to 4-3-3, while the Bears improved to 7-5-0. 
  • Men’s Soccer Suffers Setback at No. 2 Amherst

  • Wesleyan Battles Top-Ranked Tufts to 1-1 Draw

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (4-1-3, 1-1-3) tied top-ranked Tufts 1-1 in the team’s 75th meeting on Wednesday evening. With the draw, the Cardinals snap the Jumbos (7-0-1, 3-0-1) seven-game win streak.
  • Wesleyan Eases Past Clark 3-0

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (4-1-2) cruised to a 3-0 victory over Clark (6-4-0) on Sunday afternoon. The victory marks the sixth shutout of the season, as the Cardinals have only allowed two goals against through seven contests.
  • Cardinals Edge Mules 1-0
    September 22, 2019
    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (3-1-2, 1-1-2) edged Colby 1-0 on Sunday afternoon to earn its first conference victory of the year. Senior Alec Haas scored with 48:13 expired to tally his second goal of the week, while the Cardinals held a 17-6 advantage in shots during the victory over the Mules (4-3-0, 1-3-0).
  • Men’s Soccer Finishes in Scoreless Draw at Bowdoin

    BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (2-1-2, 0-1-2) battled Bowdoin for 110 minutes as the teams finished in a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon. The tie was the second for the Cardinals and third for the Polar Bears (2-1-3, 0-1-3) in conference action this year. 
  • Overtime Goal Lifts Wesleyan Past Emerson 1-0

    BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Alec Haas scored 2:18 into overtime to lift the Wesleyan men’s soccer team past Emerson 1-0 on Tuesday evening. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 2-1-1, while the Lions fall to 1-4-1.

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (1-1-1, 0-1-1) was edged by Williams 2-1 in overtime on Saturday. The Cardinals came from behind to knot the game 1-1, but the Ephs (1-2-1, 1-1-0) scored first in overtime to triumph. 
  • Pair of First Half Goals Propels Wesleyan Past Springfield

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (1-0-1) used a pair of first-half goals to propel themselves past Springfield (1-4-1). The Cardinals held a 12-5 edge in shots and a 13-2 advantage in corner kicks during the shutout.   
  • Wesleyan Battles Middlebury to 0-0 Draw in Opener

    MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men’s soccer team (0-0-1, 0-0-1) battled Middlebury to a 0-0 draw in its season opener on Saturday afternoon. During the contest, the Panthers (1-0-1, 0-0-1) held a 14-13 slight edge in shots, while the Cardinals had an 8-1 advantage in corner kicks.
