MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Seven members of the Wesleyan men's lacrosse team were honored by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) as they were named to the 2019 NEILA All-Academic Team.
Overall, 51 different colleges and universities were represented across all three divisions, and Wesleyan had the second-most of all teams, behind only Brown (9). The Cardinals led Division III with seven selections and were represented by Corey Aviles, Christian Barker, Carter Hawthorne, Scott Irwin, Zander Kotsen, Chad Malinowski, and Colin Uyeki.
Members of the team are nominated by head coaches and are comprised of student-athletes who have excelled both in the classroom and on the field over the course of their careers. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, and be a significant contributor.
