MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – In addition to being named the NESCAC Player of the Week on Monday, Harry Stanton '18 of the 17th-ranked Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team also received national recognition Wednesday, as he was named the USILA/BSN Sports Division III North Offensive Player of the Week.
Stanton's stellar play last week helped guide the Cardinals to two wins over Vassar (11-4) and then-No. 10 Middlebury (17-15), as they improved to 4-1 overall and jumped into the USILA Coaches Poll. The junior attack from New Canaan, Conn. totaled 14 points on 11 goals and three assists, and also recorded six ground balls. Against Vassar, he scored five goals and added an assist. The following game, he scored six goals while dishing out two assists and picking up five ground balls in a difficult NESCAC matchup on the road.
Wesleyan is back in action Saturday, March 25 and will host non-conference foe Clark University. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. on Citrin Field.
