HADLEY, Mass. – Junior attack Harry Stanton of the No. 17 Wesleyan University men's lacrosse team has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week for his stellar performance during a 2-0 stretch for the Cardinals.
Stanton was instrumental in Wesleyan's two wins last week as he totaled 14 points on 11 goals and three assists, while adding six ground balls. In an 11-4 win over Vassar, he scored five goals and dished out an assist. He followed that up with a six-goal performance on the road against then-No. 10 Middlebury and added two assists in a thrilling 17-15 victory. Stanton also recorded a team-high five ground balls in the win.
The New Canaan, Conn. native currently leads the NESCAC in goals (20), ranks second in points (30), and is tied for third in assists (10). His 30 points are second to teammate Carter Hawthorne '19 who has 32.
Wesleyan is fourth in the conference with a 2-1 league mark, while boasting a 4-1 overall record to rank 17th in the country. The Cardinals are back on the field Saturday, March 25 and will host Clark at 3 p.m.
