  • Tim Sestak Named Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-American

    Wesleyan men’s hockey senior goalie Tim Sestak was honored with Academic All-American At-Large Third Team honors by CoSIDA, as announced by the committee on Wednesday afternoon. This marks the second straight season Sestak earns a Academic All-American Third Team distinction, as he joins Victoria Yu ’19 and Andrew Yin ’15 as the only Cardinals in school history to graduate with multi Academic All-American accolades.

    Wesleyan men’s hockey senior goaltender Tim Sestak was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large First Team for District 2, as announced by CoSIDA on Thursday afternoon. The 2019-20 awards are selected by CoSIDA and recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. Sestak is one of 10 listed on the District 2 First Team.
  • Walker Harris Named New England Hockey Division II/III All-Star

    The run of postseason awards continues to pile up for Wesleyan men’s hockey senior Walker Harris, who earned New England All-Star honors for the second straight season. Harris is one of 19 student-athletes from 13 schools included on the prestigious list that was announced by the New England Hockey Writers Association (NEHWA).
  • Walker Harris Named Third Team All-American

    Wesleyan men’s hockey senior forward Walker Harris, already the recipient of the 2019-20 Joe Conannon Award and All-NESCAC First Team honors, has been named a Third Team All-American as announced today by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA). Having earned All-American Third Team honors last season, Harris becomes the first two-time All-American in program history.

    Wesleyan men’s hockey senior forward Walker Harris was announced today as the winner of the 20th annual Joe Conannon Award, presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England at the Division II/III level. Harris joins Jim Pancyzkowski (2004), becoming just the second Cardinal in program history to earn the prestigious honor.
  • No. 15 Wesleyan Travels to No. 10 Babson for Program’s First NCAA Tournament Game on Saturday

    Fresh off a thrilling run to the program’s first NESCAC Championship, the No. 15 nationally-ranked Wesleyan men’s hockey team is set for its first-ever NCAA Tournament Game with a First Round matchup at No. 10 Babson. The opening puck drop is set for Saturday at 7:00 PM from the Babson Skating Center. Wesleyan heads into this showdown with an overall 15-11-1 record while the Beavers secured an at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament with a 18-6-1 mark on the season.

    The 2020 NESCAC Champion Wesleyan men’s hockey team has drawn a First Round matchup, in the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance, against No. 13 nationally-ranked Babson. The game will be played at the Babson Skating Center on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 PM.

    It was all-out pandemonium for the Wesleyan men’s ice hockey team as the Cardinals scored seven goals in just over 30 minutes of action, erasing an early deficit to thunder past No. 8 Trinity, 7-2, winning the program’s first-ever NESCAC Championship on Sunday afternoon from Lansing Chapman Rink on the campus of Williams College. Wesleyan captures its first conference title in the Cardinals’ first NESCAC Championship game appearance, improving to 15-11-1 on the season and securing the league’s automatic bid into the 2020 NCAA Tournament.

    Wesleyan men’s hockey freshman Jake Lachance wound up from the point and fired in the overtime game-winner for the Cardinals in a 3-2 victory at No. 9 Williams in the NESCAC Semifinals on Saturday. The fifth-seed Wesleyan (14-11-1) advances to the program’s first-ever NESCAC Championship appearance and will face No. 8 Trinity (19-6-1) in an all-Connecticut title game on Sunday at 2:00 PM from the campus of Williams.

    The upset-minded fifth-seeded Wesleyan men’s hockey team travels to top-seed Williams on Saturday for a 4:00 pm NESCAC Semifinal showdown. This marks the Cardinals’ fourth straight NESCAC semifinal round appearance after Wesleyan scored three unanswered goals in the third period in a 4-2 comeback win over fourth-seeded Middlebury last Saturday in the NESCAC Quarterfinal. Wesleyan heads into this showdown with an overall 13-11-1 record (8-9-1 NESCAC) while the Ephs secured the top-seed and sport a 17-7-1 (13-5 NESCAC) record.

    The fifth-seeded Wesleyan men’s hockey team travels to four-seed Middlebury on Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. NESCAC Quarterfinal showdown. The Cardinals head into their fourth straight NESCAC Tournament appearance finishing the regular season with a 12-11-1 record and 8-9-1 NESCAC mark. The Panthers finished 10-11-3 overall and 8-7-3 in conference play.

The Continentals scored two goals in the first period as they prevailed, improving to 6-7-4 overall and 5-4-2 in the NESCAC. With the loss, the Cardinals dropped to 9-8-0 and 5-6-0.
