MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – Three individuals from the Wesleyan golf team competed at the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship hosted by Middlebury College at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course this weekend. Williams College captured the 2018 NESCAC Women's Golf Championship with a two-day total of 643 (320-323), after extending its one-stroke lead from day one, to a seven-stroke victory. Amherst placed second overall with a 650 (321-329), followed by the host Panthers with a 663 (326-337), Hamilton with a 671 (335-336), while Bowdoin rounded out the top five with a two-day total of 795 (396-399).
Middlebury's Chloe Levins captured medalist honors with a pair of 76's, for a two-day total of 152. Williams' Cordelia Chan followed with a 156 (74-82), as Panther Blake Yaccino and Hamilton's Celia Lau tied for third with scores of 160.
- Emma Mehta led the Cardinals, scoring a 94 on the first day, followed by a 99 on day two. Mehta's 193 score placed her 24th of 37 competitors.
- Junior Saadia Naeem finished just behind Mehta with an overall score of 203 (98-105), good for 25th place.
- Meg Wiley rounded out the competitors for Wesleyan, scoring a 251 (124-127).
- This was the final event for the women this fall, as they will resume play in the spring.
