CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Wesleyan men's 'A' crew traveled to Cambridge, Massachusetts for the 55th annual Head Of The Charles this weekend and placed 13th overall in the 38-boat field of the men's collegiate eights.
Wesleyan crossed the finish line with a time of 14:58.428. MIT placed first with a time of 14:25.901 followed by Marist (14:29.12) and Hobart (14:33.359). The Cardinals finished ahead of Tufts (15:19.208), Colby (15:31.160), Middlebury (15:45.014), and Connecticut College (19:23.481).
"The crew did a really solid job competing today," said Head Coach Phil Carney. "They were aggressive, rowed well, and managed a tight 13th-place finish in a field of 38 crews. Our coxswain Danny Helfman prepared extensively and handled the difficult course well. In the final evaluation, we were a couple of seconds from making the top ten of this highly competitive event. We will head back to the boathouse, work a little more, and come back strong for our last race of the fall next weekend!"
