Men’s Crew Triumphs Over Coast Guard On Home Water

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – The Wesleyan men's crew team swept all three events against Coast Guard during it's lone-home meet of the year.

The Varsity 8 (Theo Simko [coxswain], Will Humphrey, Hayden Galusza, Ben Lynch, Brendan Joyce, Jack Sheffer, Teddy Kennedy, Harrison Malec, and Dominik Sobieszek) edged out Coast Guard by six seconds (6:11.9) to take home first-place in the 2,000m course. The Bears completed the course in 6:17.7.

The second V8 squad (Daniel Helfman [coxswain], Kenny McKee-Proctor, Ethan Ching, Emmett Nunes, Andrew Daggon, Andrew Martin, Jimmy McShane, Shakeel Jessa and Drew Myers) also boasted a first-place finish, completing the course in 6:19.3, just ahead of Coast Guard (6:25.2).

The Varsity 4 (Haley Fish [coxswain], Luke Dewees, Benjamin Spencer, Hudson Dore, and Jackson Heins) bested Coast Guard's A & B squads, coming in 7:19.9.

The Cardinals return to the water on Saturday when they head to the McLaughlin Cup in Worcester, Mass.
