Bates erased a 1-0 deficit through 11 minutes of action with a tying goal in the 15th minute, and a pair of second-half goals to pull away from Wesleyan Sat., Sept. 26. Wesleyan hosts Tufts Tues., Sept. 29 in another NESCAC affair in its next start and the contest will be webcast.
Bates took the lead for good in the 47th minute, the added the insurance goal in the 57th minute to end the day's scoring. Bates picked up just its third all-time win over Wesleyan against 13 losses.
Wesleyan grabbed a 1-0 lead at 10:46 of the contest on Lauren Yue's '17 second tally of the campaign, set up by Cardinal top scorer Hannah Plappert '16, who now has nine points on three goals and three assists.
Shots in the game were even at 8-8 with Cardinal netminder Sara Grundy '16 making four saves. The Bobcat netminder made just one saves as the Bates defense limited Wesleyan to only two shots on net.
