MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Danny Rose '19 of the Wesleyan University baseball team was honored by the Jewish Sports Review as he was named a 2018 All-America Team Honorable Mention following an impressive junior campaign.
Rose—an outfielder from Ipswich, Mass.—lead the Cardinals in slugging percentage this spring and ranked second on the team in batting average. His .525 slugging percentage ranked sixth-best in the NESCAC while his 15 doubles and four sacrifice flies each ranked second in the league.
Rose was 44-of-122 (.361) from the plate this year with a .427 on-base percentage, 24 RBIs, 18 runs scored, one triple and one home run in 34 games. He played a pivotal role in the team's success, in which Wesleyan returned to the NESCAC Championships with an 8-4 regular season conference record. The team finished 22-16 overall for their fifth 20-plus win season in the past six years and their sixth-straight winning campaign.
