Ethan Cooke enters his second season as an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s swimming & diving programs at Wesleyan in 2017-18. He also serves as the coach of the Cardinal Masters workout group and the Middlesex Aquatics Club (MAC).
The Middletown, Conn. native, who graduated with a degree in finance from SUNY New Paltz in 2016, was a standout swimmer on the college stage. He was a three-time captain and broke four school records, with three occurring in relay events and one on the individual side in the 200-yard butterfly, while also shattering a pair of pool records.
During his senior campaign in 2015-16, Cooke powered the team to a second-place finish at the SUNYAC Championships, which was the highest finish by the team since 1993. During his years in college, he coached the Vets Swim Team senior group and the Hawks Swimming Club, sending many swimmers to Division I programs and Olympic Trials.
The 2012 Middletown High School graduate served as a captain during his senior year, while earning All-State honors in the 200 medley relay and breaking two school records.
