Golf Competes at Duke Nelson Invitational

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. – The Wesleyan University golf team competed at the two-day Duke Nelson Invitational this weekend, hosted by Middlebury College at The Ralph Myhre Golf Course, and finished 21st in the 22-team field. Zach Lambros '17 led the way for the Cardinals and carded a 78 today, after posting a 77 on Day 1, to combine for a weekend score of 155.

INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS:

  • As a team, Wesleyan shot a 337 on Saturday, and cut eight strokes off its Day 2 score (329) to finish with a 666.
  • Lambros finished tied for 64th overall. His weekend score of 155 was the best Wesleyan showing by 11 strokes.
  • Brian Gerner '18 cut things down to an 81 after shooting an 85 on Day 1, and was Wesleyan's second-best performer at Middlebury.
  • Babson College and Western New England made moves on Day 2, ultimately finishing first and second, respectively. Babson shot a 572, marginally ahead of Western New England's 573.
  • Trinity was the top NESCAC team this weekend, scooping up a third-place finish.
